Stitching Time

Stitching draws me in. I don’t want to stop. Sometimes I wonder if it’s more distraction than art, but I keep stitching. It may add up to something in the end. These mandalas are coming alive for apron bibs.

I’ve been reading the blog of Judy Martin like it was a book…so many stories and ideas about stitching. She writes: “Although the primary function of embroidery seems to be decorative, it is rooted in belief and superstition. Embroidery is closer to tattooing than to weaving or knitting.”
